CLP Power – Work Shadowing

2023-03-19

CLP Power, one of the largest investor-owned power businesses in Asia, provides electricity to more than 80% of Hong Kong’s population. In this work shadowing programme, you will have an immersive on-the-job training experience as an engineer using VR, use 3D printing to produce tools for training or daily operation, and access equipment that are vital to the provision of electricity in your homes. You will also meet female engineers who will share their career paths, their views on the future of the industry, and STEM applications in it.

Cognizant – Mobile App Inventor Workshop

Time for another in-person activity! Co-organised with Cognizant, this workshop will teach participants how to use MIT App Inventor. Participants can learn to programme mobile applications by moving components of the visual blocks language and learn computational thinking concepts.

Thanks to the kind generosity of Cognizant, participants who sucessfully complete the workshop will get to keep the pre-owned laptop utilised in the workshop, to support participants’ continued learning.

Macquarie – CV Writing & Interview Skills Workshop

When applying for scholarships, internships or universities, a good CV and good interview skills will help you make a great first impression and land the offer or academic opportunity that you want.

This virtual workshop will help build your skills. We'll work with you to write a CV that shows your strengths, and uses your STEM skill to stand you out of the crowd. You'll be able to participate in mock interviews and get constructive feedback from experienced professionals.

The Website was developed and is run by The Women's Foundation (TWFHK, we, our or us). By accessing or using this Website, you confirm that you have read and agree to comply with Terms of Use, together with the Privacy Policy and all applicable laws and regulations (the Terms).

1. Minors

2. Website Use and Restrictions

Content on the Website is provided to you for your information and personal, non-commercial, use (including to share with teaching colleagues) only.

You shall not:

(a) Use, copy, modify, distribute, transmit, broadcast, display, sell, license, de-compile or otherwise exploit the Website or Content except as authorized by these Terms or with prior written authorisation;
(b) disrupt the Website or any associated servers or networks;
(c) display, post, submit, publish, upload or transmit an Account Holder Submission that is deceptive, defamatory, threatening, pornographic, discriminatory, breaches any Intellectual Property Rights, creates a risk to a person's safety or health, impersonates another person, violates any law, or is inappropriate or fraudulent.

3. Account.

To use some of the services of the Website, you may have to create an account (Account). You agree not to create an Account for anyone else or use the account of another without their permission. When creating your Account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are solely responsible for the activity that occurs in your Account, and you must keep your Account password secure. You must notify TWFHK immediately of any breach of security or unauthorised use of your Account. If you wish to delete your Account you may send an email request to TWFHK at ggt@twfhk.org. TWFHK may suspend or delete your Account if you breach these Terms.

4. Intellectual Property Rights.

The content on the Website, including without limitation, the text, documents, curricula, articles, brochures, descriptions, products, software, graphics, photos, sounds, videos, compilation of data, interactive features and other materials (the Materials), and Account Holder Submissions, as defined below (together with the Materials, the Content), and the trademarks, service marks and logos contained in the Content (Marks), are the property of TWFHK and/or its licensors and may be protected by applicable copyright or other intellectual property laws.

5. Account Holder Submissions.

(a) The Website may permit the submission, sharing and publishing of Content, as well as information, comments, ratings by you and other users via an Account (Account Holder Submissions). You shall be solely responsible for your Account Holder Submissions and the consequences of posting, publishing or uploading them. We reserve the right in our sole discretion, to monitor, edit, remove, delete, and/or remove any and all Content posted on the Site (including Account Holder Submissions) at any time and for any reason.
(b) You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights and permissions to use and authorise TWFHK to use all copyrights, trademarks, patents, know how or other intellectual property rights (Intellectual Property Rights) in and to your Account Holder Submissions to enable inclusion and use on the Website under these Terms.
(c) By submitting the Account Holder Submissions to TWFHK, you hereby grant TWFHK a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display the Account Holder Submissions in connection with the Website and TWFHK's operations. You also hereby grant each user of the Website non-exclusive right to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and perform actions in accordance with these Terms.
(d) You acknowledge that when accessing and using the Website you will be exposed to Account Holder Submissions from a variety of sources, and that TWFHK is not responsible for the accuracy, usefulness, safety, or Intellectual Property Rights of such Account Holder Submissions. We are not responsible for any claims you may have against us for this type of content including if you find any objectionable.

You agree that we may collect and use personal information that you provide or make available to us in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

7. Copyright Policy.

Any content included on the Website that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party will be removed from the Website as soon as possible after we are made aware of such infringement. TWFHK makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the Website, Content or Account Holder Submissions.
(b) TWFHK will not be liable for any false, inaccurate, inappropriate or incomplete information presented in the Content or on the Website or any use or misuse of or reliance on any information or Content of the Website.

(c) These Terms and the relationship between you and TWFHK shall be governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
(d) In case of any discrepancy between the English version and Chinese version of these Terms, the English version shall prevail.

The Women's Foundation (TWFHK, us, we) is committed to protecting your privacy and to ensuring that all personal data provided to us is handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO). This Privacy Policy governs how TWFHK uses personal data (defined below) that we collect, receive and store about individuals in connection with the use of the website www.ggthk.org (the Website).

TWFHK does not host the services which is operated by third party service providers that we engage. This means that personal data that you provide us or that we collect from you (as further described below) is hosted with such third party service providers on servers that they own or control and as such you are consenting to your data being transferred to such third party service providers whose servers may be located outside of Hong Kong.

Purpose of collecting and keeping personal data

1.TWFHK will use personal data collected from you for the purposes for which it was collected.
2.TWFHK does not require you to provide personal data in order to have access to general information available on the Website. If you are interested in receiving more information on the Website or our programmes you may submit personal data such as your name, job title, work or student status, email address, telephone number etc. via "Contact Us" email or form. In order to use certain services that we offer via the Website you may be required to create an account (Account). 2) internal business purposes including data analysis and audits, assessment of the quality, user experience and impact of the Website and our programmes including ongoing programme and Website planning and improvements including through surveys, research, feedback collection whether via mail, electronic mail, telephone, SMS, fax or online etc.

C. For users who have an Account or opt in for marketing communications: the provision of updates and direct marketing (via fax, email, direct mail, telephone or other means of communication including social media online, or e-newsletters) in relation to our programmes, the Website, research, courses, volunteer opportunities, workshops and events, promotions, offers, opportunities for sponsorship, networking and donations, advocacy campaigns, opinion sharing, news updates, information and other related services or benefits provided by TWFHK and/or other partners or organisations.

Any content that you post on or via the Website or via Account Holder Submissions (Website Communications) may be publicly available to other Website users. 1. The provision of your personal data to TWFHK is on voluntary basis.
2. In accordance with the PDPO, you may request access to your personal data held by TWFHK. A charge may be imposed to cover the cost of photocopying personal data at the rate approved by the Secretary for Financial Services and Treasury.
3. You are entitled to request access to and correct your personal data held by TWFHK, and request us to cease to use of your personal data at any time without charge.
4. You may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in the marketing communications or contacting TWFHK at ggt@twfhk.org with your full name and contact details.
5. If you are in a EU Member State, you have the right, subject to certain limitations or restrictions, under the data protection laws in the EU to:

(a) request access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data;
(b) obtain restriction of processing or to object to processing of your personal data; and
